Group Vision

“Bremner Bay will have safe, clean freshwater, greatly improved biodiversity and great access for the community to use the bay to it’s fullest”

Group Goals
  •  Treatment of stormwater from source to outflow
  •  Monitor, improve and advise on water quality for recreation
  •  Advocate for a long-term plan to thoughtfully improve user amenity
  •  Improve native biodiversity and control invasives
  •  Provide opportunities for community engagement and education
The group will achieve these goals by:
  •  Developing a comprehensive water testing plan and scoping nature-based solutions to stormwater issues
  •  Seek to work with QLDC to develop a plan for the reserve area around the bay
  •  Collaborate with other community groups such as Te Kākano and the Upper Clutha Wilding Tree Group (UCWTG) to support ongoing native planting and invasive control in the area
  •  Run regular community events and workshops
